Condor questions the authenticity of some complaints

CONDOR has cast doubt over the authenticity of some complaints about its service as it threatens to ban passengers who abuse its staff.

In a statement released yesterday afternoon, the ferry company said a 'series of unpleasant events' had occurred where customers have threatened or have been abusive to staff, either verbally or physically.

Signs warning that such behaviour will not be tolerated have been put up in ports, aboard ships and other places where staff are in contact with customers.

Following the introduction of the new £50m. Condor Liberation on the inter-island and Poole route, Condor has been hit with a string of criticism regarding punctuality and loading and unloading delays.

People have also been questioning the safety of the vessel, criticising how it sails.

Condor said it was now questioning some of the allegations made because of some of the comments passengers have made to staff.

Disturbingly, many of the incidents experienced by our staff involve customers making unreasonable demands which, if not met, are followed by a threat to "go to the media", usually with allegations relating to safety,' said a spokesman.

'This has caused us to question the veracity of some of the complaints and comments which have been made on social media or to island media outlets.'
