Opposition to Town Quay changes grows in States

STRONG political opposition to the seafront is growing, the Guernsey Press can reveal, as States members begin to throw their weight behind scrapping or reviewing the alterations.

They have also questioned the impartiality of a new group set up to review the arrangements.

In a survey conducted by the Guernsey Press, nine members declared their resistance to the move, two voiced support and several issued a joint statement admitting that the 'ultimate solution will be different to what exists today'.

The changes reduced traffic along the front to a single lane and installed an official crossing near the Town Church.
