Thick black smoke could be seen bellowing from the now unrecognisable white Mitsubishi and four 'loud explosions' sent panic in and around the area.
Mum-of-two Tiffany Poullaine, 22, lives opposite where the van was parked and at first could smell the smoke.
'I went upstairs to see what it was and I could feel the blazing heat from my window.
'I was in such a panic. I grabbed my two kids and ran out the back.
'You just never know what could happen and I just wanted to get the kids out of there.'
