Disbelief at Green Acres dementia home refusal

CAMPAIGNERS for a specialist dementia care facility at Green Acres Hotel are shocked that planners have turned down their application.

Although an open planning meeting is due to be held next Tuesday, the recommendation was released yesterday and stated that the hotel, which closed three years ago, was 'not incapable of upgrade to a satisfactory standard of visitor accommodation'.

This has left long-time campaigner for the transformation, Sarah Griffith, dumbfounded.

'I am absolutely gutted and horrified that they think a hotel is more important than the need for facilities for dementia patients. I despair, it has been closed for three years and no one has bought it, yet they still think it is viable. I mean how ridiculous is that? I am so angry and annoyed.
