Emily Marsh was walking from Albert Pier to the Town Church on Tuesday morning when she caught her foot on a raised concrete sign base at the southern side on the crossing and fell directly into the road.

Luckily, no vehicles were driving through the crossing at the time of the accident – she suffered only cuts and severe bruising to her left shin.

'I was scared for my life, it was truly horrible,' said Mrs Marsh.
