A Rocquaine Regatta to remember

IT WAS a regatta to remember as more than 1,000 people headed to Rocquaine on Saturday to soak up the sun and take part in or watch a variety of shore, offshore and beach events.

Swimming races, crab races, a raft contest, a wifecarrying race and tug-ofwar competition were just some of the activities taking place as the crowd took advantage of the summer sunshine, coming out in force to support the annual extravaganza.

Bruce McNaught, 53, had taken his two chihuahuas along for the day and was ready to meet his daughter, Sammy, when she completed the 1,000-yard swim from Portelet to Fort Grey.
