Guernsey Police believe one or several dogs were responsible. Farmer Stefan Yerby, 19, noticed one of his lambs was missing at La Terre Norgiot on Monday evening.

'I looked all around the field and finally found it in the corner of the field suffocating on its own blood.'

Mr Yerby, pictured, who has been keeping sheep since he was 12, said the lamb had to be put down.

It was the second time one of his lambs has been attacked this month.

Dave du Jardin lost 15 chickens last Friday around Rue des Pointes in St Andrew's, when a total of around 60 were killed in the are.
