J.W. Rihoy & Son is set to complete the £1.6m. build by the end of the day.

The building will become operational from September.

Work to replace the dilapidated St Matthew's Church Hall started last September. The Guernsey Press has been media partner for the appeal.

'We are absolutely delighted it has finished on time,' said Colin Guilbert of the community centre committee.

'The contractor and indeed the sub-contractors have pulled out all the stops to get it done on time.'
