Wesley pre-schoolers in plea for new home

A PRE-SCHOOL that has been left devastated by losing its home of more than 20 years is now calling upon Guernsey to help it find new premises.

Wesley Pre-School manager Heidi Abbotts, who took over from her mum Kim four years ago, has raised concerns about what will happen to the children if they cannot find a new home.

Parents also yesterday spoke of their sadness following the announcement at the end of last week and described it as a 'lifeline' service, particularly for low-income families.

Deputy manager Steph Dragun helped start the pre-school 23 years ago.

'The news has hit us all hard,' she said.

'Our parents haven't got loads of money, they have low-incomes, and for us it's not just about the children, we support the whole family and do a lot of work with the parents.'

Anybody who can help with finding new premises is asked to contact Ms Abbotts at the pre-school on 700277 or email heidiabbotts@hotmail.co.uk
