Twelve shortlisted entries from local students will be on display in the airport foyer until Friday, and islanders can place their votes there, but online voting is also possible.

A prize of £500 for the winning student and £2,000 for their school will be awarded for the artwork receiving most public votes, with a £250 (and £1,000) second prize and £100, with £500 for the school, in recognition of third place.

On Saturday the exhibition will move to St James, ahead of an awards ceremony.

Votes can also be cast online by visiting www.sovereignartfoundation.com or by using the forms published in this newspaper on 18 and 19 November, where all the pictures are also displayed.
