Organiser Rosie Dorey was delighted with the turnout.

'Considering the weather was horrendous at 2pm, I thought we might be here on our own,' she said.

'But miraculously the rain stopped and people started appearing down the slipway. It was really heartening. There were still people arriving after the photo had been taken, which was a shame, but we had to make the most of the break in the weather,' she said.

'The photo will be uploaded to 350.org and other international organisations and Guernsey will add its voice calling for positive action.'
