Focus on your own affairs, say Sarkees

'FOCUS on your own affairs' was the direct message from many Sarkees this week after the recent call by prominent Channel Islanders in Guernsey and Jersey for a major inquiry into the island and its future.

Bed and breakfast owner Sue Adams, 70, whose family date back to the original settlers in Sark, said the island was doing OK, without the need for outside intervention.

'I was quite amazed. I think they have fish to fry in their own pond,' she said.

'I don't know what gave them that impression.

'We are doing OK. I have a B&B and we had a very good season and bookings are coming in for next year.

'The folk festival is absolutely fantastic.'
