A total of 12 mitigating measures have been detailed as part of the environmental impact assessment for the planning application for the site, which Public Services expects to see fully operational in 2018, with construction potentially starting in early 2017 subject to planning approval.

Members of the public, including neighbours, will have the chance to find out more about the plans and share their views and concerns at upcoming drop-in sessions.

However, both PSD and the team behind the plans, Amec Foster Wheeler, have offered reassurances that there will be no significant impact on traffic, noise or air quality, including odours.

As for noise, there are a series of recommendations to keep it to a minimum including implementing a limit, keeping residents informed of activities and having a site contact for complaints and queries.

  • Drop-in sessions are planned for 15 and 16 January at Beau Sejour.
