These set-up costs included building work, furniture, IT equipment, network cabling and wi-fi and came in at £186,000.

The site in Market Street will open later this month and has a three-year projected budget of £1.456m.

Commerce and Employment has declined to give a detailed breakdown of the budget – including how much money it is spending on rent and internet connection costs, citing commercial considerations – but has provided an overview for the project.

Operational costs are expected to total £503,000 in the first year, £360,000 in the second and £407,000 in the third.

That includes rent, building maintenance, utility bills, staffing, its website, events and training, plus marketing and PR.
