Scale of Le Platon plans anger neighbours

PLANS for a 'skyline altering' development of Le Platon Nursing Home are being fought by a group of neighbours.

The home in Clifton, St Peter Port, will increase in size and height if approved.

The boundary wall of Polly Lister's home borders Le Platon. She has lived there for nine years.

Currently the area of land above is a garden, but, if the plans are approved, it will dramatically change the way of life for her and her family.

'It is a three-and-a-half storey building and will start within a metre of our garden. We will be overshadowed and overlooked by it all,' she said.

'We do understand what they are trying to do, but they have a huge amount of land and had eight different schemes to choose from. I do not know why they chose this one – it is an enormous development, and they did not consult us at all.'

Le Platon trustees say that the development is two storeys high with a basement.
