Organisers said they had taken suggestions from many people on board and are promising an explosion of colour, capes and cartoon craziness.

Co-organiser Emma Odoli said people could expect a pop-art riot with characters ranging from Hagar the Horrible to Snoopy and The Flintstones.

'Let your memory drift back to old-school greats such as He-Man, Andy Capp, Wacky Races, Minnie the Minx, Dennis the Menace and the Bash Street Kids or choose from more recent favourites – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Peppa Pig, the Simpsons, Futurama and even South Park,' she said.

The current team took over the running of the event for the first time last year.

'We were aware that we were taking on a special commodity,' said Mrs Odoli.
