UPDATE Condor hopes Liberation will be back Saturday

CONDOR says it has now rectified all of the Liberation's issues and it hopes the vessel will return to service on Saturday.

In an update just announced, the ferry company said the Condor Liberation was currently undergoing re-inspection by its flag state and classification society (DNV-GL).

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency, which detained the ship following an inspection earlier this week, is due to re-inspect the ship tomorrow.

'All of the matters highlighted in Tuesday's MCA inspection have now been rectified,' Condor said.

'Subject to that re-inspection being completed satisfactorily, Condor Liberation will return to service on Saturday.

'We have put in place the contingency plan as published yesterday. Our charter freight ship, MV Arrow is on her way to the Channel Islands, so that Commodore Clipper can concentrate on passenger services.'

It said it had developed a plan for Friday and Saturday, which will see freight services unaffected and which will allow around 70% of passengers to travel on their expected day - albeit many of them on a different ship and/or at a different time.
