Witnesses sought after cyclist found injured

A CYCLIST was taken to Accident and Emergency yesterday afternoon after he was found lying in the road.

Police are investigating the incident, in which the cyclist is alleged to have been knocked off his bike by a vehicle along Route de Plaisance, St Peter's.

The emergency services were called at 2.25pm after another motorist came around the corner and discovered the cyclist lying in the road.

The cyclist was taken to the hospital after complaining of neck pain.

Police said it was not immediately clear if any other party was involved.

However, following further enquiries officers are now keen to speak with the driver of a light blue, five-door, Hyundai with the registration beginning with the number 6.

Anybody who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision, or knows the identity of the driver, is asked to contact PC Turian at the station on 725111.

Police wanted to thank members of the public who assisted at the scene.
