Condor says it will not charter Normandie Express this Easter

CONDOR has ruled out chartering the high speed ferry Normandie Express for Easter.

The option was put forward as a potential plan B over the weekend. Condor said that it could not overcome regulatory and operational matters in time. Crew availability was also an issue.

'With Liberation back in service since Saturday and Rapide already refloated after her dock, we remain completely focused on delivering a reliable service with our existing fleet,' a spokesman said.

Condor will continue to consider charter options if a high-speed ferry is out of action for one or two weeks, as stated in its contingency plan.
