A call was made at 3.48am regarding a disturbance at a residential property. It was reported the man was inside his property, in a distressed state, and had threatened a neighbour who had approached.

Uniformed officers were deployed and on arrival the man allegedly made further threats towards them.

Based on information that he was in possession of a crossbow, and concerns that he could harm himself or others, authorised firearms officers were deployed to the scene.

A containment area was established and officers attempted to engage with him. When this was unsuccessful a police dog was deployed, followed by officers, and the man was located.

He was safely arrested and transported to the police station. A crossbow was seized and enquiries are ongoing.
