The annual celebrity-studded match will take place this year on 26 June and chairman of the Herm Committee Jonathan Watson said it would, as always, be a fun event.

'We get about 360-370 people coming over to Herm and we give them lobster and champagne.

'We always raise a lot of money and a lot of the funds stay in Guernsey.

'It is not exactly competitive, it always starts with the best of intentions, but when the batsman takes a bottle of beer out to bat with that stops.

'We get some people from EastEnders over and Lorraine Chase always plays. It is great fun.'

The match takes place at the Herm International Cricket ground, he said, and was the culmination of a weekend's worth of activities following a Friday night at the Duke of Richmond hotel and Saturday night at St Pierre Park.
