The States is now advertising the role to head up the Financial Stability Advisory Committee, which will be given political oversight from the Policy and Resources Committee under the new States structure next term.

A Policy Council spokesman said the appointment would be for a three-year period and would be remunerated at £40,000 a year.

If the successful candidate worked for the 'minimum' requirement of 30 days a year – as is stated in the advert – that would work out at £1,333 a day.
