Teen arrested after three-hour search

A LARGE-SCALE police search operation, involving armed officers and sniffer dogs, ended yesterday morning with a 17-year-old male being arrested near Delancey Park.

Officers had earlier recovered a discarded air weapon and a knife.

A distressed teenager was found by armed officers around 11.30am after a three-hour-long parish-wide search, which included patrols around La Folie Lane, Route Militaire, Vale Douzaine Room, Braye Road, the Bridge, Grandes Maison Road, and Delancey Park.

He was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon.
