Pride of Guernsey: 'Heart and soul' is for La Mare
AN INSPIRATIONAL teacher whose heart and soul is for La Mare de Carteret High School and his pupils, has been nominated for the Pride Of Guernsey Teacher of the Year Award, sponsored by Garenne.
Tracey Robilliard, who nominated Jason Dodd, knows him through the Guernsey Youth and Community Theatre and described how his energy and commitment was there for all to see. His pupils respect him and his modesty is well known in the school community.
She said Mr Dodd has helped so many pupils gain confidence through his drama classes and activities.
'In mine and many others' eyes, a thoroughly deserving winner,' she said. 'It is his enthusiasm and dedication, especially to the school and pupils.'
Mr Dodd always wants to get the very best out of all the children he teaches and that makes him a fantastic teacher, she added.
