HER Majesty the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were in the island yesterday – but not quite as we know them.

Three Royal lookalikes were visiting for the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation's A Right Royal Affair event.

Held last night, the event celebrated the charity's Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

The prestigious award is the highest given to any voluntary group across the UK and recognises and rewards excellence in voluntary activities, carried out by groups within the community.

The charity is currently working on its biggest project yet, The Burrow, the aim of which is to buy a property next to Southampton Hospital so that families across the Bailiwick can use it if their newborn baby or child requires off-island treatment.

Jo Priaulx, co-founder, said the charity had asked the 'royal guests' to come over to join in with the fun.

'Both the award and The Burrow's progress are proof of just how amazing our supporters and volunteers are,' she said.
