More infant death cases investigated

INVESTIGATIONS into the deaths of several babies have been conducted in the wake of a Nursing and Midwifery review into maternity services.

Health and Social Services has admitted it identified other cases to be looked into following the NMC review – a report sparked by the death of a baby in 2014.

However, the department has not said how many deaths required investigation.

Its admission comes months after the Guernsey Press first asked questions about the number of deaths being investigated.
