OCCUPATION-ERA German documents found under some floorboards are at the centre of a Second World War mystery for one local lady.

Colleen Williams found the first set of German-language documents in her house in St Sampson's in 1991, when the loft was being converted.

More recently, when it was being renovated, she found more documents – which appear to be some sort of magazine, called Kosmos – and is keen to know more.

'The house was, I think, built in the 1920s and then in the late 1980s was converted into flats.

'I have now converted it back.

'When I first moved in, in 1989, once a year there used to be a small German man who would come, I think as part of a cycling holiday, and sit on the wall outside and play with the neighbour's cat.
