Pride of Guernsey: 'Sheer hard work and determination'
RAISING a family while working up the ranks of St John Ambulance has earned Sonia Guille a nomination for Emergency Hero of the Year.
Sandra de Sousa said she was more than deserving for the Pride of Guernsey award, which is sponsored by Rossborough Insurance.
'I would like to nominate Sonia as she has given over 20 years of service to the St John Ambulance Service and this year she received a well-deserved medal from St John's.
'Initially when Sonia qualified she was the first female paramedic on the island.
'She has progressed through the ranks through sheer hard work and determination and is now a station sub-officer. All this while being a wife to Ian and mum to Sophie and Leanna.'
