Hugo Bugg said his design reflected the importance and symbolism of water and drew its inspiration from the Mediterranean.

The Royal Bank of Canada, which was sponsoring a garden at Chelsea for the sixth year, invited organisations in the Channel Islands to apply to give it a post-show home and Les Cotils was the chosen recipient.

'We were delighted and really excited to secure the garden for Les Cotils as we were not the only ones who wanted it,' said Les Cotils managing director, Fiona Naftel.

'It's a big deal as it cost more than £300,000 to build and it winning a silver gilt award was really the icing on the cake.'
