Pride of Guernsey: 'cheerful and optimistic for the future'

STUDENT nurses in the class of 2013 have come through uncertainty with a cheerful and optimistic outlook.

They have been nominated for the College of Further Education-sponsored Overcoming Adversity award.

'The class of 2013 have had a very uncertain time with their course,' said the person who proposed them, but wished to remain anonymous.

'It was stopped for nine months. They did not know whether or not it was going ahead for quite a while. They completely understood the reasons why the review of the hospital had to take place. It was not about them.'

They were described as a great crowd – 'cheerful and optimistic for the future'.

'It is great to think that we have on our horizon some wonderful, kind, caring and home-grown nurses.

'I believe they truly deserve this award.'
