NOTHING is too much trouble for the owners and staff at Village East Restaurant, according to two of its customers.

Sally King said she was always made to feel very welcome at the North Plantation establishment.

'It is the only place I feel I can walk into and sit there on my own while relaxing over a lovely lunch,' she said.

The ambience and intangibility of the restaurant always made it a great place to visit, she added.

Tim Slann also nominated Village East for the RefCo-sponsored Welcome of the Year award.

He said that Nobby and Rosita went out of their way to make everyone feel special and they remember all regular customers by name.

It was like one big family and they were always interested in the lives of their customers.

'If you want something they don't have, they go out and get it, even if it means going to a shop,' said Mr Slann.

'When it was my birthday Rosita went home and returned with her talented son, who played Happy Birthday for me on the violin.

'I can't recommend the place highly enough.

'They are such a fantastic couple and theirs is the first restaurant I would recommend to anyone who asks me.'
