Julie Fallaize started working as a secretary at St Sampson's Infants School in 2008 and then moved to the Vale in 2014.

Bev Hockey, who nominated Julie for the Specsavers-sponsored award, said Julie had become an amazing friend and a 'rock'.

'My children know they can go to her for help whenever they need to and know they will be greeted with a smile, a listening ear and a positive attitude,' she said.

'Recently Julie had been thrown a curve ball, but she had remained our rock during a recent loss and has offered us support and advice.'

Bev said Julie had no hesitation in helping others regardless of what was going on in her own life.

'We want her to know how much we appreciate her and everything she does and has done,' said Bev.
