Fishermen rescued from rocks after boat goes down

TWO Alderney fishermen have been rescued from rocks after their boat sank quickly this morning.

The fishing vessel had been about 200 metres from the shoreline at Chateau a L'Etoc and the crew had to swim 30 metres to an outcrop of rocks in strong tides.

They were wearing lifejackets.

The 999 call was received at 7.19am, with the relief all-weather lifeboat Corinne Whiteley and a smaller boat sent out.
