Liberation suffers engine fault

CONDOR Liberation has suffered yet another fault – this time with its engine.

The ferry was on its way from Poole this morning when it encountered the problem.

Its services to Jersey and the UK today have been cancelled.

Condor Ferries said the engine shutdown was due to a problem with the fuel system and its engineers were investigating further.

It is understood the vessel made its way back to Poole for repairs.

'We are sorry for the disruption this unexpected issue has caused our passengers,' said a spokesman.

It is the second fault to have occurred on the vessel in as many weeks.

On Sunday 31 July, it suffered a problem with its turbocharger.
