Another ferry seen as likely answer to Condor problems

A 'RADICAL solution', such as the introduction of another ferry serving the UK and inter-island route, is the likely outcome of a review into Condor's services, the Economic Development president has said.

Peter Ferbrache was speaking after Condor Ferries' Liberation vessel suffered yet more technical problems, this time with its engine, causing disruption to services on Monday and cancellations yesterday.

It is expected to be back in action today.

While Deputy Ferbrache said he did not want to prejudge the outcome of a comprehensive service review, he said he would be surprised if it did not recommend the introduction of another vessel onto the UK and inter-island route.
