GCSE results up on last year

BAILIWICK students have topped last year's GCSE and Level 2 results.

And students at La Mare High School achieved their best ever results with 45.5% getting five A* to C grades, including English and Maths.

Overall 62.1 % of students achieved five or more GCSEs or Level 2 equivalent qualifications including English and Maths at grade C or above.

It compares with last year's figure of 57.4% of students achieving the so called 'gold standard'.

It comes as results in England have fallen to the lowest levels since 2008.

The overall proportion of entries achieving A* to C declined from 69% to 66.9%.

The Grammar School had 94.4% of its achieving five A* to C grades, including maths and English, with Les Beaucamps High achieving almost 50% and St Sampson's High around 40%.

Blanchelande College saw an improvement on last year, with 87% compared to 82% last year.

Ladies College saw 100% of students achieving the grades while Elizabeth College secured the best results in around five years, with 98% achieving five or more passes at A* to C, including English and Maths – a 3% improvement on last year.
