The Queen's youngest son ended his tour of Guernsey with a visit to Government House, where representatives from most of the local Duke of Edinburgh centres had set up stalls.

The event was also the end of the challenge where schools have used various means to get around the island.

Pupils from St Sampson's High and Les Voies took part in the first stage, which involved sailing two six-man Hawks from Bordeaux harbour to St Peter Port.

Among the crews were 14-year-old St Sampson's pupils Emily Gill and Caitlyn Le Patourel.

While Caitlyn had done some sailing before, this was the first time Emily had been in a boat.

'I enjoyed it and it was really fun,' said Caitlyn.

The other methods to get around the island, included kayaking, road bikes and walking, before the challenge ended at Government House, where they had a chance to meet Prince Edward.
