It has been dedicated in memory of the former Housing minister and Vale deputy, who died in July after a long illness.

Bailiff Sir Richard Collas was joined at the ceremony by Deputy Jones' widow, Bonny, and daughter Emma Hill to unveil the plaque.

Mrs Hill said it was wonderful to see it completed. 'I know he was super-proud of the homes and all his other achievements,' she said.

Mrs Jones agreed. 'He worked so very hard on them, so to see it completed is wonderful,' she said.

A number of Deputy Jones' family attended the event, including his son, Nathan, and granddaughters Ella and Caitlin.

Sir Richard said Deputy Jones had asked him to conduct the ceremony, before he died.

'He was one of those people who were difficult to say no to,' he said.

'He was a remarkable person... he wanted to make a difference and he did make a difference, and this here is his legacy.'
