When the States delayed plans to rebuild the school last term, it made £2m. available to do essential capital work until a final decision was made on its future.

That work included replacing flat roof coverings and roof lights to the High and Primary Schools – a retrospective planning application for which has just been submitted to planners.

It said that in line with resolutions following the States debate in March, the committee has been carrying out essential maintenance and improvement works at La Mare de Carteret High and primary schools during the recent school holidays.
