La Mare High finds new ways to have fun while learning

PROJECTS that engage and excite students by spanning different subjects are among the latest steps taken by La Mare de Carteret High as it strives to become an outstanding school.

Following the secondary school's successful inspection report earlier this year, it is now building on its strengths to become a sector-leading school, and part of that has been looking at new ways of learning.

It also ties in with the States' plans to introduce the new the 'Big Picture' curriculum from September, which focuses on 'joyous and purposeful' learning from September, as well as a desire from staff to be more creative with the curriculum.

'We started to look at cross-curricular learning and projects across departments,' assistant head teacher Dan Cleary said.
