Local references, slight deviations from the original story and extra characters have all been provided under the penmanship of the writer, Sue Daly, who in her spare time has also made all the costumes and props and directed the amateur thespians.

Make-up, hair and wigs are also vitally important to this performance and Sark has two ladies who have given their time in this department.

The backdrops are pieces of art, drawn specially for the production by local artist and writer Martin Remphry.

Sark Theatre Group's Christmas Carol has been described as a 'feast of fun' and this year, in conjunction with Isle of Sark Shipping Company, they have made it easier for Guernsey residents to join them either for the day, for the Saturday matinee or for the weekend, at a special ferry ticket rate.

The first performance is 6.30pm on Friday 16 December, a dinner show with hot buffet and mince pies. Tickets are £19.50 for adults and £10 for children.

There are performances on Saturday, with a 1.30pm matinee and 7.30pm evening show, tickets costing £10 for adults and £5 for children.

To book, call Sue Daly on 832175 or Sark Island Hall on 832666.
