ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT would actively oppose any move to subsidise Condor, committee president Peter Ferbrache said at yesterday's States meeting.

He was updating the States on his committee's progress following the recent publication of Condor's comprehensive service review and said island connectivity was the committee's number-one priority.

'Difficulties experienced in sea travel and the lack of confidence in the service need to be resolved quickly,' he said.

He said the committee had held lengthy meetings to discuss the matter and the next step was to talk to staff in Jersey and representatives from Condor.

'We are trying to get the best arrangement we can,' he said.
