Salerie changes cost £130k

CYCLISTS and pedestrian safety measures at Salerie Corner have seen the budget-busted to the tune of £80,000.

Originally estimated to cost £50,000, Environment & Infrastructure president Barry Brehaut said the final figure was likely to be around £130,000 - but the bills had to all arrive.

'The Committee has recognised throughout the importance of this project, which has, quite rightly, been implemented at the earliest opportunity, to address what is known to be a dangerous junction,' said Deputy Brehaut.
