PARISH share rates for Anglican churches in the Bailiwick will no longer be made publicly available, the Dean of Guernsey has confirmed.

In previous years figures have been released in the Diocese of Winchester accounts, with the overall payments in 2013 and 2014 amounting to almost £650,000 in each year.

The Parish Share is paid for by members of the congregation from methods such as collections.

Anglican churches in Guernsey, Alderney and Sark now pay their parish share to the Diocese of Canterbury, with this going towards clergy costs and a contribution to national church and diocesan expenses.

The Dean of Guernsey, the Very Rev. Tim Barker, said the Deanery would not be releasing the information as ministry costs were funded entirely by members of the congregation.
