We will look to make savings across organisation – MSG

GUERNSEY'S secondary healthcare provider will look to make savings across the whole of its organisation, it has said, as almost £1m. will be cut from its contract over three years.

Medical Specialist Group chairman Steve Evans, pictured, said the saving targets, as agreed with the States, were not unexpected.

While in an ideal world there would not be any cuts, it would have been unrealistic not to have expected any, he said.

'We will look at the organisation as a whole to make it more efficient but we have signed up to say that this won't affect services.'

He said some work had already been done to prepare for the cuts.

If at any time the cuts threatened service provision, the MSG would have to deal with it as it came while negotiating with the States.
