Released today, the report highlights the significant impact Brexit will have on Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man and their relationship with both the UK and the EU.

Deputy Gavin St Pier, who gave evidence before the committee in the House of Lords on 20 December, said it was a welcome and comprehensive acknowledgement of the islands' views.

'In particular, I welcome the recognition that the UK Government must continue to fulfil its constitutional obligations to represent the interests of the Crown Dependencies in international relations, even where these differ from those of the UK.'

The report called on the UK to support the Channel Islands in attempts to gain World Trade Organization membership.
