Five Year 9 students travelled to Alderney with maths teacher Duncan Loweth to ring a total of three quarter peals. The Alderney band turned out in relays to ring with the boys, who rang for most of Saturday and all of Sunday afternoon. They were assisted by one of St Anne's newest and certainly youngest ringer, Aaron Hallett, 13.

The Elizabeth College students, who rang a quarter of a peal each, are following the Learning the Ropes National Bell-ringing Accreditation Scheme.

St Anne's trainer Helen McGregor said the Alderney band have themselves benefited hugely from the support offered by visiting expert ringers. 'The College boys all performed well on our modern, easy-to-ring bells. Each college boy rang one quarter peal over the weekend – but Aaron rang in all three, helping to provide the necessary stability to ensure the success.
