LANDOWNERS will be asked to suggest sites that could make way for housing and employment space at key locations around Guernsey.

Environment is intending to appeal for potential locations in the latest stage of consultation into its island-wide development plan.

The sites would have to be within or around the main centres of Guernsey, consisting of St Peter Port, St Sampson's and the Vale.

Limited development could also take place in or near other so-called local centres, in generally more rural locations.

Environment's principal forward planning officer Simone Whyte said landowners could also propose other aspirations they had for their land, such as recreational and community facilities.
