Many unwanted Christmas gifts are already appearing on sites such as eBay

Amid the rush to buy the perfect Christmas gift, it appears that some present choices have gone awry, as listings for unwanted goods on eBay and Gumtree shot up yesterday.

Listings for computers and tablets rose by 25% on Christmas Day and there were 25,000 listings for craft items on eBay.

There were ten times more women's clothes items listed on eBay in the last 24 hours compared to men's, while the most searched items on Gumtree yesterday were iPhone and Playstation.

Just as millions are set to hit the Christmas sales online rather than instore, it seems many are also planning to un-shop their unwanted presents online too - eBay are expecting over 100,000 new listings on Boxing Day.
