LUKE JONES has appeared in the renowned Leicester Tigers colours as he featured for their under-18 academy side at the weekend.

The promising Guernsey back came on for the last 25 minutes of the 12-0 victory over the previously unbeaten Northampton Saints side at Oval Park on Saturday, putting in some crunching tackles and significant kicks.

Jones (pictured), who came on at wing, was playing alongside the likes of Javiah Pohe, the Leicester under-18 captain who has also been selected for England at that age group this season.

‘It was probably one of the best games I have played in my life – the standard was right up there,’ said Jones, a product of the RBSI Guernsey Rugby Academy, who turned 18 last month.
